About The Typewriter: Student Literary Magazine

The Typewriter is an online literary magazine founded by high school sophomore Ursula Koestner. An avid reader and writer, Koestner dedicated herself to showcasing the creative works of student writers through an online platform. We provide a safe space for aspiring writers to share their prose, poetry, and various forms of creative writing. Our favorite aesthetic is fantastical, poetic, dark academia; think abandoned libraries with worn books, deep forests and twinkling pixies, and ancient stone castles overlooking dangerous seaside cliffs; mysterious, quiet wilderness wrapped in a deliciously dim light.
